Common names. - Pipsissewe. Prince's Pine.

Habitat - A small perennial evergreen plant found in dry woods in the United States and Canada.

Preparation.- Tincture from the entire fresh plant.

Acts very markedly upon the urinary apparatus, and has proved very efficacious in the treatment of catarrhal inflam- mations of the urinary passages, especially of the bladder.  The urine is high colored, offensive, turbid and containing considerable ropy or bloody mucus and depositing a copious mucous sediment, burning and scalding during urination; great straining before and after. Also recommended in retention of urine; suppression of urine in infants; acute prostatitis with retention of urine.
